What we Believe

BIBLE

We believe the Holy Scripture, both Old and New Testaments, is the inspired Word of God, the complete revelation of His will for the redemption of humanity, and the divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life.

GOD

We believe in the one, true and living God, the eternal Spirit who is infinite in holiness, power, wisdom, righteousness, goodness, love, and mercy, and is eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Jesus

We believe in the Son, Jesus Christ, who is true God and true man, and who was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross and shed His blood as an atonement for the sins of men and women, and was raised bodily from the dead. He ascended into Heaven where He now intercedes for all who believe. He will come again to judge the living and the dead and to establish His eternal kingdom.

HOLY SPIRIT

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Godhead, who is one of substance, equal in power, and co-existent with the Father and the Son. He glorifies Christ, convicts sinners, regenerates men and women, and guides, teaches, rebukes, indwells, empowers, comforts, and intercedes for believers, uniting them into one body for godly living.

SIN

We believe that humans are image bearers of God and, when first created, were sinless and in fellowship with God. But through Adam, all people have fallen into sin and, as sinners, are in need of God's salvation.

BAPTISM and COMMUNION

We believe that repentant sinners who believe in the Gospel are regenerated by God and justified through faith in Jesus Christ alone.

We believe that there are two ordinances: baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

Baptism is by immersion and in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It symbolizes death to sin and resurrection to new life in Christ.

The Lord’s Supper, also referred to as communion, is the commemoration of our continual fellowship with God. It should be taken only by those who have been baptized, and should always be preceded by careful self-examination.

AFTERLIFE

We believe that there will be a bodily resurrection of the just to eternal life and of the unjust to eternal punishment.

CHURCH

We believe that the Church is the body of Christ of which Christ is the head. The universal Church, which is invisible, consists of all those who have become children of God by faith. The visible Church is the local congregation of believers who are voluntarily baptized and organized for worship, fellowship, evangelism, and service.
